Dental treatments
A clear overview of the most common dental treatments. For each you get the procedure, recovery, price, public-insurance coverage and risks. No marketing fluff.
Dental implant
A titanium root placed into the jaw replaces a lost tooth, then a crown is fitted after 3 to 6 months.
Dental crown
A ceramic or metal-ceramic replacement for a destroyed tooth crown. The standard solution after a root canal.
Root canal treatment (endodontics)
Removing the infected pulp, disinfecting and filling the canals. It saves the tooth from extraction.
Dental hygiene and cleaning
Professional removal of tartar and plaque. The basic prevention of gum disease and decay.
Tooth extraction
Pulling a tooth that cannot be saved. Surgical or standard. A basic procedure at most practices.
Fixed braces (brackets)
Metal or ceramic braces fixed to the teeth. The classic orthodontic treatment lasting 12 to 24 months.
Teeth whitening
In-office or at-home whitening with peroxide. It lightens teeth by 2 to 4 shades for 6 to 24 months.
Dental veneers
Thin ceramic shells bonded to the front teeth. An aesthetic fix for unattractive teeth.
Treating tooth decay (fillings)
Drilling out the decay and filling it with white composite or amalgam. A basic treatment at every practice.
