Patient question
How much does a dental implant cost
A complete dental implant including the crown costs 25,000 to 55,000 CZK in the Czech Republic. The titanium screw alone is 8,000 to 18,000 CZK, the abutment 3,000 to 6,000 CZK, and the crown on the implant 10,000 to 25,000 CZK (ceramic). Public insurance does not reimburse implants, so you pay the whole cost yourself.
Detailed explanation
The implant price has three parts. The surgical phase (placing the screw into the bone, a roughly 2-hour operation) is 8,000 to 18,000 CZK depending on the implant brand. The abutment (the screwed connector between bone and crown) is 3,000 to 6,000 CZK. The prosthetics (the crown fitted to the abutment) is 10,000 to 25,000 CZK.
The implant brand affects both price and outcome. Premium systems (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, Astra) run 15,000 to 20,000 CZK per screw. Mid-range (MIS, MegaGen, Dentium) 10,000 to 14,000 CZK. Budget systems (Neobiotech, Osstem) 6,000 to 9,000 CZK. A lifetime warranty usually comes only with premium brands.
Side costs. Bone augmentation (building up the bone before placement) 5,000 to 25,000 CZK. Sinus lift (raising the maxillary sinus) 8,000 to 20,000 CZK. Extraction of the tooth before placement 800 to 3,000 CZK. A temporary crown during healing (3 to 6 months) 3,000 to 6,000 CZK.
When an implant makes sense. For an adult with healthy bone and good home care. The alternative is a bridge (which requires grinding down the healthy neighbouring teeth, 15,000 to 30,000 CZK for a three-unit span) or a removable denture. An implant lasts 25 years or more with proper care; a bridge 10 to 15 years.
